It’s hard to believe that she could possibly be old enough to be baptized, but on Dec 3rd she made the decision to take the plunge. After a fun party with her friends on Friday, we gathered at the stake center with family and friends to take part in her baptism and join her as she made sacred covenants with her Heavenly Father. Afterwards we all joined back at our house for some yummy treats. It was a beautiful morning and we’re all very proud of Mallory and the decisions she’s made.

Mallory is a very smart girl and she enjoyed pre-school. She can be a bit stubborn at times, but hopefully that will be to her advantage as she grows up. She’s very excited for kindergarten and I can’t believe she’s already 5.

Mallory finished up her soccer season.  She still asks everyday if she has soccer practice.  I think she really liked it.

The girls started  swimming lessons.  Hailey is a little nervous about it but she has hung in there.

The girls had their dance recital.  Hailey did a great job.  Mallory did a great job too!! This was a shock and a huge improvement from the Christmas recital when she jumped off the stage to me.

Jack and Annie had their 9 month check up.  Jack is a nice                    18 1/2 pounds and Annie is just over 17 pounds.  They are both doing great.   I think Annie is a little taller than Jack but is is hard to tell because getting them to stand still is impossible.  They are crawling everywhere….fast and pulling themselves up to everything.  They are even trying to stand alone and walk behind things. I was hoping this would come a lot later but it might be nice to have them walk instead of carrying them all the time. But the time has come at our house to once again baby proof.  The gate is up, the plugs are in, doors are shut, the blinds are raised,  and the third shelf is still not high enough. We find them everywhere.  In the house they are good to stick together and follow each other but outside they go separate ways!

Places we have found Jack…..(Annie started crawling later so we had rearranged the house by then and she seems to have a little more reserve to situations!)

I did find Annie under my bed.  She likes to take the thighmaster under there to play.

Hailey got the Soaring Eagle award at school.  She had a list of things she had to pass off and present and she did a great job.  She memorize some pretty funny poems!  So now it is on to second grade.  She gets to go to the new school they built.  Falcon Ridge Elementary is about a 10 minute walk from our house.  If the neighbors house in front of us was not there, we would be able to see it from our front porch.  We are too spoiled!

Jessie and fam came for a visit at the end of May.  We had lots of fun.  We look forward to their next visit.  Hailey already has a few plans up her sleeve! 

At our house we eat Waffles for breakfast, hardly ever pancakes. Well, this morning I only had enough milk to make pancakes.  When Mallory woke up I got her a pancake and cut it up.  She looked at it and started screaming, like out of control, throw yourself on the floor, kicking and shrieking.  She wouldn’t even talk to me she was so upset.  I figured out that she did not want a pancake.  She would not settle down.  I just kept saying, “Eat your pancake”.  She made the babies cry she was so loud.  So I decided to ignore her and help Jack and Annie.  I put Jack in the tub which is always a hoot (I’ll have to post about that later). Jack being in the tub distracted Mal enough that she started to settle down so  I asked her if she could tell me her problem.

She said, ” I hate pancakes.”

I said, “You like waffles and pancakes better than cereal.”

She said, “No I don’t. I hate pancakes.”

I said “Pancakes taste just like waffles but without the bumps.”

She said,”No, I ate one at Mamo’s and at the cabin and I hate them.”

I said, “I didn’t make Hawaiian pancakes. I just made waffles that are flat.”

She said, “OH” and went to the kitchen and ate her flat waffle!

Talk about a breakdown in communication!!!!!

So last Saturday was her first game. After the game she told me that she didn’t get a goal, but she got in there and kicked it a few times (which is more than Hailey did during her entire soccer career). I always thought Mally was a bit more of a tom-boy than Hailey, but maybe sports is more her thing. Guess we’ll just have to see if she continues to enjoy it.

Well… according to Mallory, fisherman catch fish and then dry them out so that they can be Swedish Fish so we can eat them.
