Our budding author

Today Hailey brought me another paper she wrote.  She always has a pen and notebook with her.  She writes me love letters during Sacrament meeting and write everybody’s names on the bus ride home.  She writes tons and tons of stories.  Yesterday she made up a survey for all of us to take during family home evening.  And she wrote her own talk to tell us about the survey.  I find myself in a pinch because I want to save all of these papers but I would seriously need a bigger house especially because Mallory is following suit now that she has discovered the alphabet.

Well the paper that Hailey brought me today was special.  Not that the others aren’t, but this one was a song.  She wrote it all by herself.  I only helped spell a few words.  I wish I could scan it in so you could see her handwriting (and spelling).  I also wish that I knew how to put video on so she could sing it for you.  I have had her sing it  a few times and the tune doesn’t change much so she really must mean it.  Here are the lyrics…..

I want to see my children praying to thy Lord.                                         They will feel the Spirit coming and I will be proud of them.                     I will be there when they need me and I will feel the Spirit too.              And I will feel It too.

Principal Pride Award

A few weeks ago Hailey was awarded with the Principal Pride Award at school and I’m just finally getting around to posting about it now. This is an award given to kids at her school who are extra good or helpful and as you can see from the pics below, Hailey received hers for “always being cheerful and willing to help wherever she is needed”. We’re super proud of her and we just hope she keeps it up.

Good job Hailey!!

Lost Another Tooth…

Posted by Mike on December 16th, 2007

Hailey finally lost her last front tooth on Thursday of this week making the classic Christmas song a bit insufficient. She now needs two times the amount of front teeth specified by the song. She doesn’t mind though. Each tooth represents another visit from the tooth fairy and more change for her piggy bank. Unfortunately though, the tooth fairy didn’t make it Thursday night. Emily and I both fell asleep expecting that she would arrive, but when Emily went in to get Hailey up Friday morning for school she quickly discovered that the tooth fairy hadn’t come by. We tried to explain that she had probably been delayed, but Hailey wasn’t very comforted. Luckily though, the tooth fairy did come by Friday night and left a note to explain her absence the previous evening. She was apparently home in bed with the “fairy flu” and she left Hailey a little extra prize to make up for the delay. Hailey was quite excited about receiving the note and the prize so everything was better after that. Thank goodness.

Toothless Josephine

So Hailey lost her second tooth on Monday. Emily was rather glad of this because the tooth had started to discolor and looked bad. Hailey was glad for it because it meant another dollar from the tooth fairy. Luckily she didn’t swallow this one so she was able to actually place it under her pillow. Mallory apparently had a hand in dislodging this one, but regardless of how it came out, it’s out.

I Lost My Tooth… Literally.

Today I lost my first tooth. And by lost, I mean it’s gone!

I was eating some Marshmellow Mateys this morning when my tooth decided to come out in the middle of a bite. The only problem is that it decided to fall in instead of out and now it’s resting in my tummy with my breakfast.

I was a little worried that the tooth fairy wouldn’t come because I don’t have a tooth to put under my pillow, but I’m going to fool her by putting a drawing of my tooth under my pillow instead. Now I just hope she remembers to bring my thousand-million-hundred-thousand dollars. :)

Check out the pictures of my new smile hole.
